Itinerary
Arrive at Leh Airport (Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport) and transfer to your hotel. Spend the day resting and acclimatizing to the high altitude. In the evening, visit Shanti Stupa for a panoramic view of Leh city, followed by Leh Palace and Leh Market for local shopping. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive towards Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft), one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Upon arrival, visit Hunder Sand Dunes and enjoy an optional double-humped camel ride. Later, explore the Diskit Monastery, home to a giant Maitreya Buddha statue. Check into your Nubra Valley camp/hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to the mesmerizing Pangong Lake, famous for its changing blue hues. En route, pass through Shyok Village, experiencing breathtaking landscapes. Upon arrival, spend time by the lake’s crystal-clear waters, enjoying the serenity and stunning views. Stay overnight at a lakeside camp, experiencing a magical starlit sky.
Wake up to a beautiful sunrise at Pangong Lake, have breakfast, and drive back to Leh via Chang La Pass (17,590 ft), one of the world’s highest passes. En route, visit Thiksey Monastery, a stunning Tibetan monastery resembling the Potala Palace in Lhasa. Stop at Shey Palace before reaching Leh. Spend the evening at leisure and stay overnight in Leh.
After breakfast, visit Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to roll uphill on their own. Next, explore Sangam Point, the spectacular confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers. If time permits, visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a revered Sikh shrine. Later, transfer to Leh Airport for your departure, taking home unforgettable memories of Ladakh.
